How to Turn off Recommended Books on a Kindle
If you have just purchased a Kindle, you will notice that the “Home,” screen comes with a “Recommended for you,” section. Now, there is nothing wrong with getting recommendations about books that fall in line with your interests. However, on a Kindle Paperwhite, the section tends to eat up space that could otherwise be used to display books that are in your library. So, how to do you turn off recommended books on a Kindle Paperwhite? Before getting started, check out this great cover for the Kindle Paperwhite.
The Kindle Paperwhite has a black and white screen, which, as I have noticed, pretty much takes away the visual aspect of choosing books. What I mean is that I usually choose my books based on their covers. Okay, I know some will say something about not judging a book by its cover, but there you have it!
Anyway, when I want to buy books, I hardly ever use the Kindle Paperwhite. Instead, I go to my computer, where I make the purchase. The book is then automatically synced to the Kindle. So, there is really no reason for me to see the “Recommended for you,” section on my kindle.

What does removing suggestions do on a Kindle?
What happens when you remove suggestions on a Kindle is that you will have that much more space on the Home screen on which to have the books that are in your library displayed. If, like us, you chose the Kindle that comes with advertisements, you will still get these on a band at the bottom of your screen.
