How to get out of bridge mode
That’s the Rogers modem bridge mode setup. We noted that you may be looking to bridge your Rogers router if you have brought your own equipment to the network. Perhaps you have a router that you think works great and will be faster than the equipment provided by Rogers.
Or maybe you are looking to save on rental and purchase fees by using a router that you already had. However, you could find, after a while, that the equipment provided by Rogers is the best after all.
The major challenge with bringing your own equipment is that you don’t get any Support. Should something go wrong, you will be expected to sort it out on your own. That’s viable if you are tech savvy. But for the uninitiated, that can become rather challenging.
That’s the reason why many people end up changing their mind. A lot of people out there are looking at how to get out of Bridge Mode on their Rogers modems. The thing to remember is that Bridge mode is off by default. You actually need to turn it on to get the functionality that you are looking for.
So, it then follows that to get out of bridge mode, all that you need to do is to do a factory reset on your Rogers router. Press on the reset button at the back of the device. Hold the button for about 10 seconds. Your Rogers router will now go back to factory defaults, meaning bridge mode will be disable. From there, the modem’s router functions will be restored.
Summary
In this article, we gave you the Rogers modem bridge mode setup steps. We noted that Rogers provides combination router-modems to it’s clients. However, some people want to bring their own routers to the network. To do that, you need to bridge the modem that you got from Rogers. That means the modem will now only work as a modem and not as a router. You will then be able to connect your own router.
