To be frank, I started using the Kindle for PC application on my computer before buying a Kindle Paperwhite. That included the book covers, which seemed rather odd, particularly for a person like me who is used to judging books by their covers.
As for the reading experience, you will have glare when reading Kindle books on your PC. But then, you are probably already used to the glare on your computer.
