The theme that I am using on this website is great. After struggling for a long time, I feel that I have finally found a WordPress theme that I can actually live with. However, the Mission News theme does have one problem; it does not come with a footer widget position. I mean, there is a credibility footer alright, but there is nothing that I can use to make my site appear really professional. So, how do you add a footer widget position on a WordPress site?

Search on Google, and you will come across countless articles that show you how to add a footer widget position to a WordPress website. However, most of these are complicated, and involve having you go into your blog’s CSS.
This, without a doubt, is a complicated solution to the problem at hand. Wouldn’t it be great, however, if there was a plugin that you can install on your website that would simplify the process of adding a footer widget position?

Well, the great news is that there is already such a plugin. The Podamibe Simple Footer Widget Area plugin has been a life saver for us on this blog. In order to add a footer widget position on your blog, all that you need to do is install this plugin.
Afterwards, you need to go into the Widget’s settings. Here, you can specify the number of footer widget positions that you want to have on your site. Note that you can have up to seven footer widget positions.
Now all that you need to do is go into the Widgets area on your theme. You should now have the additional footer widget positions, as you can see in the above screenshot.

Having widgets in your site’s footer adds, as we have already noted, a degree of credibility to your site.
