Firefox Anonymous Browsing: Here is how to do it!
If there are some dark corners of the internet that you wish to occasionally visit, you will be advised to choose a browser that offers anonymous browsing. Not that I am encouraging such… ahem… wayward behavior. One thing that you need to know before you go on your hike is that everything that you do online can be traced. It’s only that people have better things to do than keep an eye on you. Having said that; there are steps that you can take to reduce the risk of exposure. Here is everything that you need to know about Firefox anonymous browsing;
Browsing Anonymously in Firefox
In order to browse anonymously when using the Mozilla Firefox browser, you need to take the following steps;
- Open the normal Firefox browser.
- Click on “File” to the top left of your screen.
- Choose “New private browser.”
- A new browser will now open on your screen. Use it for any private browsing.
What happens when I do Firefox anonymous browsing
What happens when you choose to do your browsing behind the facade of a private browser in Firefox is that your search and browsing history will automatically be cleared upon exit. What that means is that people will not be able to see what you were typing on your computer (it’s a pity that people need to go to the extent of hiding what they are doing on THEIR own computers).
Anyway, Firefox does warn that hiding behind a private browser is no guarantee of anonymity. What it does is to simply obfuscate your activities, such that other people will not be able to tell what you were doing when you were supposed to be working. Other undetermined people, that is. Anyone who really wants to catch you pants down will not be deterred by such trivialities as private browsing!
