Most Zimbabweans had resorted to using VPNs following the imposition of restrictions on WhatsApp, Facebook and other social media applications. However, this is no longer the case because Zimbabweans can now access WhatsApp without having to use a VPN.

Judge Rules that Minister does not have right to order internet shutdown
The restoration of internet services in Zimbabwe comes on the back of a ruling by a High Court Judge that the Minister of State in the President’s office for National Security does not have the right to order an internet shutdown. This follows a challenge that had been lodged by MISA Zimbabwe and the Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights following the decision by the government to restrict internet access.
