Easily Get Paid for Online Work with Payoneer
The internet has, over the past few years, become one of the best ways through which people across the globe can earn a living. If you have been wondering how you are going to get paid for online work, I have laid out this guide that will set you on the right path. I remember that, a few years ago, I was on the hunt for a way through which I could get paid by Amazon for the ebooks that I have on the site’s Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP) platform. In any case, here is how to have a Payoneer Account in Zimbabwe.
No PayPal in Zimbabwe
I have previously written an article in which I explained why there is no PayPal in Zimbabwe. Okay, maybe I exaggerate a little. There is PayPal in Zimbabwe. However, it can only be used to make online payments and not the other way round. What this means is that while you can sign up for a PayPal account and use it to make purchases on sites such as Amazon, eBay and AliExpress, you cannot use that same account to get paid for online work.
This situation, I believe, obtains for many more countries around the world. When I emailed PayPal, I was told that the blame lay squarely in the hands of the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe. The RBZ is, apparently, supposed to authorize the required transactions.
That is rather surprising, considering that the country is in dire need of foreign currency. Although there have been proposed solutions to Zimbabwe PayPal conundrum, these are rather roundabout and may not work for everyone. Oh well!
Payoneer is Available in Zimbabwe
Fortunately for me, there is Payoneer, which allows people from all over the world to receive money into their Payoneer MasterCards. This is what I use to get paid for online work.
How to get paid for online work in Zimbabwe through Payoneer
The good thing about Payoneer is that it is so easy to sign up and get started. Not only that, but you also receive a reward of $25 dollars as soon as you have received a total of $100 into your account.
Where Can You Use Payoneer?
The Payoneer MasterCard is useful for everyone who is looking to get paid for online work. In my case, I use this card to get paid for the Freelancing work that I carry out through Upwork.
I also use the card to receive payments from Amazon’s KDP program. In fact, I can safely say that without Payoneer, I would not be able to do the kind of work that I do right now.
Payoneer: The shortcoming
Payoneer does, however, have a major shortcoming. It is not as widely distributed as PayPal. It is also no longer possible for you to link your Payoneer card to your PayPal account. PayPal used to accept Payoneer, but that is no longer the case. That is, apparently, because, according to PayPal, Payoneer is a virtual bank, and not a real bank.
