Why Remove Search from Taskbar?
There could be a couple of reasons why you may wish to remove Windows search from the taskbar. The reason why I ended up writing this article is because I have Windows 10 Home. Now, my computer was recently upgraded from Windows 10 version 1809 to Windows 10 version 1909. In the previous versions of Windows 10, the search box was not visible by default on my desktop.
But after upgrading my computer to version 1909, the thing suddenly cropped up. I don’t actually have anything against the search box in Windows 10. However, thing is, I am simply not used to it. If I had been using a version of Windows where the search bar was visible by default, I would probably not have any issue.
However, as it is, I decided to get rid of the search bar for the sake of my own sanity. I have my desktop arranged in a particular way, with the icons for the programs that I use the most placed on the taskbar. However, the moment the search bar was added on there, it pushed some of my icons to the far right of the taskbar. Again, there is nothing wrong with it. Nevertheless, I simply decided to remove search from taskbar.
Anyway, that’s how you disable the taskbar search icon for all users in Windows 10. Hope this information was of use to you. If yes, please leave a comment below.
