I can’t find my model on the list
As noted already, router manufacturers are always bringing out new devices to keep up with current trends. At the moment, the latest generation of WiFi is WiFi 6. That’s faster than WiFi 5 and in the future, even faster routers are likely to come on board. That’s despite the fact that the mind boggling speeds offered are well in excess of current requirements.
But speed is a selling point, and Asus is constantly striving to keep up. At the moment, the company has several WiFi 6 routers. Examples are the RT-AX88U and the RT-AX58U. Both these routers are WiFi 6 capable. So, what do you do if you can’t find your Asus router model in our table?
The good news is that the default Asus router password and username given here will still work. Asus appears to maintain the standard of using admin as both the username and password on their routers. That’s similar to what other companies do.
We have an article on Technicolor router passwords. Even there, you will notice that admin is the most common username and password. The same applies for Huawei routers. They also mostly have admin as both the password and username.
So, you shouldn’t be worried if it turns out that your Asus router model is not on our list. Simply try the default Asus router login details given above. They should work in your case.
The Asus router default password and username given here do not work
That’s another impediment that you may encounter. It sometimes happens that you will find the Asus router model that you have in your home or office on our list. But the default username and password given here will fail to work.
What causes this issue? Well, it usually has to do with the fact that people sometimes change their router login details. It’s wise to do so to avoid falling victim to hacking from your neighbors.
Thing is, anybody that has your WiFi password can get into your router’s admin section. In there, they can do all manner of stuff, including changing your WiFi name and password. They can thus lock you out of your own WiFi, which has happened many times around the world.
So, you may want to get a new Asus router login password to avoid this scenario. You should already have noted that the defaults are common and uninspired. So, changing to a new password is a way of protecting yourself.
Unfortunately, many people simply forget their new passwords immediately after they have been set. But what do you do should this situation befall you? Does it mean it’s no longer possible for you to sign into your router’s settings section?
Reset your router
Fortunately, even when you have been locked out of your own WiFi, there is still an easy solution. Simply reset your router. That can be done by pressing on the reset button on the back of the Asus router.
You may need to press on this for at least 20 seconds. Do this while the router is on. Afterwards, your router will be reset and you will be able to log in using the default Asus router password and username.
Get the correct information on the router label
The only reason why you are even here, reading this Asus router default username and password is because you don’t know that the information that you are looking for can be found on a sticker that’s underneath your router.

If you lift the device up, you will see that there is the default username and password for your router. On some routers, there is also the login IP. Some routers also bear a default WiFi name and password. So, the information is already near you.
Why look for this information?
We will close this article with a little bit of motivation. Why look for the Asus router default password and username? Well, there are several reasons why you may be looking for this information.
In all likelihood, a funny WiFi name has caught your eye and you wish to make changes in your router’s settings area. At times, people look for router default login details if they wish to change their WiFi passwords.
There are many more changes that can be made. All of these are only possible if you have access to the router’s admin areas. Once you have logged in, you will be able to carry out as many changes as you wish, while bearing in mind of course that if you mess things up in there you could end up not having internet.
