How to Change the Desktop Background in Windows 10

If you are like me, you probably spend hours each day with your eyes glued to your screen. For those that do this, staring at the same old screen becomes boring after a while. That is why you may be looking to change the desktop background on your Windows 10 computer? So, how do you go about doing it? Here is a quick tip to help you change the background of your screen in Windows 10;

Change the desktop background on a Windows 10 computer

To change the desktop background in Windows 10, all that you need to do is the following;

  1. Right click on your screen and click on
  2. You can choose to use either a Picture, Solid color or Slideshow as your background.
  3. You can choose from the default Windows pictures.
  4. If you would like to choose from another picture on your PC, click on Browse
  5. Once you have chosen your preferred picture, the background on your Windows 10 computer will now change.

Using a Slideshow as your Background in Windows 10

If you prefer to have a slideshow as your desktop background in Windows 10, then you can add pictures to the slideshow by clicking on the Browse button. You will then need to set the intervals at which you wish to have each slide changed. You can also choose to have Windows randomly shuffle through the pictures.

Choose a fit for your background image

This is another setting that you can change while setting your background in Windows 10. The options under this setting are;

  • Fill
  • Stretch
  • Tile
  • Center
  • Span

Feel free to choose the setting that best works for you.

Sync your settings

This is a really great setting, which allows you to sync your preferred setting across multiple Windows devices. If, as an example, you have one Windows 10 computer at home and another at work, you can sync your settings across both devices. This means that once you have set your preferences on one computer, they will automatically be synced onto the other computer.

Previewing changes

The good news is that you don’t need to actually do anything to preview the changes that you are making to the background on your Windows 10 computer. The changes appear on your screen automatically as you are making them. This is great in that it allows you to get the background that really works for you.
