How much can you make through Google AdSense?
Google AdSense is, without doubt, one of the most popular programs as far as website monetization is concerned. Through AdSense, Google pays website owners a fee to have ads displayed on their sites. Earnings are through both a Pay-Per-Click (PPC) and a Cost Per Mille (CPM) model. What this means is that you will get paid when people click and view the ads that are on your site. But how much can you make through AdSense? Let’s take a look using our own AdSense earnings;
When did we join AdSense?
After a long period of contemplation, we finally joined AdSense two months ago. To be frank, this site is still very young and it didn’t seem worthwhile to join the program, considering the amount of traffic that we generate.
How much traffic does this website generate
Traffic on this website has been growing over the past 1 and half years during which it has been in existence. However, the fact remains that the amount of traffic is still very low. On average, Network Bees attracts 200 visitors on a daily basis. Multiply that by 30 and you get 6000 monthly visitors.
Earnings report from AdSense
With this amount of traffic, it is not really surprising that our AdSense earnings are low. You see, the amount of money that you are going to be able to make through the program has a direct correlation with the amount of traffic that you have.
The more people that you can attract to your website, the more likely that some will click on the ads that appear on it, thus earning you a few cents. The screenshot below shows a breakdown of the amount of money that we have made since joining Google AdSense;
Analysis of our AdSense Earnings
You may have come across some websites that are making thousands through the AdSense program. Our own AdSense earnings report will, therefore, put a damper on your enthusiasm. As you can see, yesterday we made only 95 cents. That was quite a lot, considering that we made $2.76 in the past 7 days. For the whole month, we have made $13.65!
Should you join AdSense?
Based on our AdSense earnings, you may think that it’s not worthwhile joining the program. However, that is hardly the case. For one thing, we wouldn’t have been able to get the $13.65 that we have made so far without joining AdSense.
There is also the fact that your earnings are going to depend on the popularity of your site. Ours is only mildly popular (that’s probably an optimistic assessment). If, as an example, you run a news site that attracts thousands of visitors every day, there is a high probability that you will actually make meaningful earnings. AdSense also does not preclude you from joining other website monetization programs. On this site, we have also been running Amazon Associates as well as some other affiliate programs. Needless to say that we have been performing dismally in these other ventures, but then our site is still less than 2 years old!
